BOLT EVENT JOINT STOCK COMPANY

REGULATIONS
Aqua Warriors Ha Long 2026

Bolt Event Joint Stock Company hereby establishes the Regulations for the Aqua Warriors Ha Long 2026 with the following contents:

I. PURPOSE AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. To raise public awareness of the benefits and importance of physical training and sports for human health — particularly swimming — in promoting safe swimming practices and drowning prevention for all.
  2. To ensure the effective organization and management of a large-scale event, guaranteeing the safety of all participants, and ensuring compliance with regulations related to performance recognition, participants’ rights and responsibilities, as well as those of the Organizing Committee.

II. GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Athletes must meet the age requirements corresponding to their registered distances. Age is calculated by year — from the year of birth to the year of the official competition — and applies to all distances:

  • T103 Enduro Triathlon (Swim 2 km, Cycle 80 km, Run 21 km): Athletes aged 18 and above.
  • Olympic Triathlon (Swim 1.5 km, Cycle 40 km, Run 10 km): Athletes aged 18 and above.
  • Full Aqua Warriors (Swim 3 km, Run 15 km): Athletes aged 18 and above.
  • Olympic Aqua Warriors (Swim 1.5 km, Run 10 km): Athletes aged 16 and above.
  • Sprint Aqua Warriors (Swim 0.75 km, Run 5 km): Athletes aged 12 and above.
  • Junior Aqua Warriors (Swim 0.3 km, Run 2 km): Athletes aged 9 to 11.
  • Kid Aqua Warriors (Swim 0.15 km, Run 1 km): Athletes aged 5 to 8.

(2) All athletes must sign a Liability Waiver Form provided by the Organizing Committee before participating. Athletes under 16 years old must have a guardian take full responsibility and sign the Liability Waiver Form on their behalf. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse participation to any athlete who has not completed these required procedures.

(3) Athletes who do not meet the age requirements for their respective distances will be disqualified. Any guardian who intentionally registers an underage athlete in violation of these rules will forfeit their right to participate.

(4) Race number bibs (“Bib”) and other participant information will be provided by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee will determine the time and location for bib collection and distribution of related information, depending on the event’s organizational plan. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke any bib at any time if it deems that an individual is ineligible to participate, poses a potential risk to event operations, or affects the safety of participants.

(5) Athletes must present valid identification (ID card, Citizen ID, or passport) and the QR code provided by the Organizing Committee when collecting their bibs. Bibs and race kits will only be distributed at the designated location announced by the Organizing Committee at least one week before race day. The Organizing Committee will not send bibs or race kits via courier or postal service.

(6) Bib information may be modified within the timeframe specified by the Organizing Committee. After this period, any changes, transfers, or gifting of bibs to others are strictly prohibited. Results from athletes participating under another person’s bib will not be recognized, and all involved individuals may be banned from participating in future editions of the event.

(7) Once registration is completed, the Organizing Committee will not refund registration fees or any difference in fees resulting from a change in distance, under any circumstances. Athletes are responsible for following and updating information announced by the Organizing Committee on the event’s official website and communication channels.

(8) The Organizing Committee reserves the right to adjust any announced details or deadlines depending on the actual number of registered participants to ensure proper event management. Any updates will be announced to athletes on the event’s official website and communication channels at any time.

2. Race Kit Regulations

(1) All athletes must collect their race kit, which includes the bib, timing chip, and other race-related items. Detailed information regarding the time and location for race kit collection will be announced on the event’s official fan page: https://www.facebook.com/aquawarriorshalongbay. If an athlete is unable to collect their race kit in person, they may authorize another person to collect it on their behalf according to the instructions provided on this page.

(2) Athletes are responsible for keeping their timing chip, adhesive bib (tattoo bib), and paper bib safe after leaving the race kit distribution area managed by the Organizing Committee.

(3) Athletes are not allowed to collect their bib or race kit after the designated collection period. The Organizing Committee will not permit late collection and will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or misplacement after the athlete leaves the race kit distribution area. To ensure fairness, the Organizing Committee will not extend the race kit collection period and reserves full rights to handle any unclaimed race kits if athletes fail to collect them within the announced timeframe.

4) After leaving the bib and race kit collection area, athletes or their authorized representatives must carefully check their bib number and race kit upon receipt. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse any complaints or requests for exchanges related to the bib number or race kit once items have been collected.

3. Regulations for the Transition Area (applicable to all categories and distances)

(1) After completing the swimming and cycling segments, athletes must cross the timing mat to enter the transition area. If athletes need to change clothes, they are only permitted to do so in the designated changing tents arranged by the Organizing Committee. Changing clothes in any private or unauthorized area is strictly prohibited.

(2) Within the transition area, athletes are responsible for arranging their equipment within the assigned area marked with their bib number. Any personal items placed outside the designated area will be collected and considered lost.

(3) Only athletes with valid Aqua Warriors Ha Long 2026 bibs (tattoo bib or wearable bib) and members of the Organizing Committee are permitted to enter the transition area before and after the race.

(4) Athletes must move within the transition area according to the designated layout and follow instructions from event staff to avoid obstructing or endangering other athletes. If an athlete’s movement causes obstruction or danger to others, and this is confirmed by the Referee Team, a warning penalty will be issued.

(5) Athletes who need to change clothes must use the designated changing tents provided in the transition area.

(6) For relay athletes, the timing device must be handed over within the designated handover area arranged by the Organizing Committee inside the transition zone.

(7) In the transition area, the Organizing Committee will provide rectangular blue plastic baskets. Athletes must place all personal belongings inside the basket located under their assigned bib number.
This is the only area where athletes are permitted to dispose of bottles, gel wrappers, banana peels, etc.
Improper disposal of any items outside this area will be considered littering and may result in a penalty card for each violation.

(8) The transition area opening hours for athletes to arrange their personal items (running shoes, bib belt, cap, gloves, nutrition, etc.) in their designated area are:

  • From 14:00 to 15:00 on April 11, 2026, and
  • From 04:30 to 06:30 on April 12, 2026, depending on the race distance.

(9) The opening hours for athletes to deposit clothing (used for changing after the swim) in the storage section of the transition area are:

  • From 14:00 to 15:00 on April 11, 2026, and
  • From 04:30 to 06:30 on April 12, 2026, depending on the race distance.

(10) The transition area will be open for athletes to collect their personal belongings at the following times:

  • From 14:30 on April 11, 2026 (Day 1 of the competition), and
  • From 09:00 to 13:00 on April 12, 2026 (Race Day).

After this period, the transition area will be closed, security staff will leave, and any personal items left behind will no longer be managed by the Organizing Committee.

(11) In addition to the general transition area regulations, athletes participating in the T103 Enduro Triathlon and Olympic Triathlon distances that include the cycling segment must also comply with the specific rules outlined in Section IV – Cycling Regulations.

4. Regulations for the Transition Area for Relay Teams

(1) The relay transition area is expected to be open from 04:30 to 06:30 on race day (April 12, 2026) for all relay team members. The swimmer/cyclist will complete their leg of the race, meet the cyclist/runner at the Relay Tent, and hand over the timing device to the next athlete. The cyclist/runner must wait until they have received the timing device before leaving the relay tent. The timing device functions as a relay baton, and the swimmer must start the race with the timing chip corresponding to their bib number. Once the swimmer begins their leg, the cyclist/runner is permitted to enter the transition area. Athletes must follow all instructions from Referees and Organizing Committee staff at all times.

(2) To ensure the timing device functions accurately, relay athletes must always wear the timing chip strap around their ankle. Athletes must hand over the timing device within the designated relay tent area in the transition zone. At no time are athletes allowed to carry the timing device by hand while running, to ensure proper timing accuracy. The timing device acts as a “baton,” and athletes must remove the strap/timing chip and hand it over when transitioning to the next discipline. Failure to comply may result in being recorded as Did Not Finish (DNF). After completing their leg and handing over the timing device, the relay team member must collect their personal belongings and exit the transition area immediately.

III. SWIMMING REGULATIONS

1. Equipment Requirements:

(1) All athletes participating in the swimming segment must:

  • Wear the swim cap provided by the Organizing Committee in the race kit.
  • Wear the timing chip, securely fastened to either the left or right ankle.
  • Apply the bib number visibly on both arms and legs in areas not covered by the swimsuit so that referees can easily observe it.
  • Wear the wristband provided by the Organizing Committee (if applicable).
  • Not use earphones or mobile phones during the entire competition.

All athletes in all race distances are required to use an open-water safety buoy (personal swim buoy). Approved types of swim buoys (illustrative images provided) must be used.

Athletes are not allowed to use the buoy strap to pull themselves forward. Any violation will result in disqualification.

Athletes may use rescue boats, ropes, or buoys only as safety support equipment, but not as a means of propulsion. Any such action will result in disqualification.

Athletes are not permitted to use any swimming aids during the race, including hand paddles, snorkels, fins, or flotation devices, except for the personal swim buoy as specified by the Organizing Committee.

Note: Athletes should only use swim buoys of appropriate size and adjust the buoy rope length to fit their body.

(2) Race Attire:

  • Athletes are required to wear swimwear throughout the swimming segment.
  • Swimwear must be made of 100% textile material and must not contain any rubber-based materials such as polyurethane or neoprene.
  • Wetsuits are not allowed, except in cases where the water temperature is 24.5°C or lower, in which case athletes may wear wetsuits as permitted and announced by the Organizing Committee depending on weather conditions.
  • Any garment that covers the arms below the elbows and/or the legs below the knees is considered a violation and is not permitted during the swim, though it may be worn after completing the swimming segment.
  • Male athletes must wear swim trunks; female athletes must wear a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit. Nudity is strictly prohibited during any part of the competition.

(3) Swim Cap:
The swim cap must correspond to the race distance at the time of competition. Only caps provided by the Organizing Committee are permitted. Failure to wear the correct cap, or wearing a non-compliant cap, will result in disqualification. If a swim cap is torn or damaged, the athlete must immediately contact a representative of the Organizing Committee for assistance (replacement caps will be provided at the Swim Start Area).

(4) Goggles:
Athletes must bring their own swimming goggles, which are mandatory throughout the race. Goggles are defined as standard protective eyewear for swimming. Diving masks (covering the nose) and breathing aids (such as snorkels) are strictly prohibited.

2. Technical Regulations:

(1) All athletes must complete the swimming course according to the designated route for their registered distance. Any athlete who swims or dives across the course instead of following the official route will be penalized.

(2) Athletes may use any swimming style. Participation in the practice swim session before race day is mandatory for all athletes competing in open water for the first time, and a personal swim buoy must be used during the practice session.

(3) If an athlete experiences difficulty or requires assistance during the swim, they must signal for help by waving their hand toward the rescue team.

(4) If an athlete decides to withdraw during the swim, they must remove their swim cap and wave to the rescue team to signal for assistance from the Organizing Committee.

(5) In the event an athlete loses their timing chip, wristband, or swim cap during the swim, they must immediately proceed to the referee station to report the issue and request a replacement timing chip. The athlete may only continue the race if still within the allowed time limit. However, the athlete’s swim result will not be officially recorded, and they will not be eligible for awards. (The swim time will be calculated from the moment the athlete reports to the Referee Team.)

(6) Athletes must always follow the instructions of referees and members of the Organizing Committee. Decisions made by the Organizing Committee are final.

IV. CYCLING REGULATIONS

  1. Bicycles must be propelled forward through a chain system powered by leg movement in a circular motion, without any form of mechanical or external assistance.
Only triathlon bikes, road bikes, or mountain bikes are permitted.
Beach bikes, brakeless bikes, folding bikes, and those with hub brakes are strictly prohibited.
Tandem bikes, recumbent bikes, bikes with aerodynamic fairings, or any equipment designed to reduce air resistance are not allowed.
Any new, unusual, or prototype equipment will be subject to the Race Director’s and Technical Supervisor’s decision on its eligibility.
  2. All bicycles must have functioning brakes on both wheels. Athletes are responsible for ensuring their bicycle and brakes are in good working condition.
  3. Wheels: Disc wheels or wheel covers may be used only for the rear wheel. However, this rule may be adjusted by the Race Referee for safety reasons (e.g., strong winds).
  4. This is a non-drafting race. The draft zone is 12 meters, measured from the front wheel of the leading bike to the front wheel of the following bike. When overtaking, an athlete may stay within the draft zone for a maximum of 25 seconds. The overtaken athlete must exit the draft zone within 25 seconds and must move out before attempting to overtake again. For motorcycles or race vehicles, the draft zone is 15 meters (motorcycle) and 35 meters (car), measured front wheel to front wheel. Drafting rules do not apply near transition areas, aid stations, or turnaround points.
  5. Penalties for drafting violations:

    • First offense (Yellow Card): +5 minutes added to total time.
    • Second offense (Red Card): Disqualification from the race.
  6. Any athlete who intentionally obstructs another competitor or engages in unsafe behavior will be immediately disqualified.
  7. Athletes must wear and securely fasten their helmet at all times during the cycling leg (including entering/exiting the transition area). The helmet must be fastened before removing the bike from the rack and cannot be unfastened until the bike is returned to the rack. Failure to wear a helmet during the bike segment results in disqualification. Helmets must meet safety certification standards.
  8. All bicycles must undergo check-in inspection along with the helmet at the Transition Area on Saturday, April 11, 2026, and remain there overnight. The bike must display a bib sticker on the seat post, and the helmet must have a bib number sticker on the front. (Both are provided in the race kit.) Athletes must personally check in their own bikes, showing their race number attached to the seat post. Bikes without race numbers will not be accepted. Bikes and gear can be checked out only after the cycling segment has officially ended, as announced by the Organizing Committee.
  9. Mounting and dismounting the bike is only allowed in designated areas. Cycling is prohibited inside the transition area at all times.
  10. Athletes must perform their own repairs if the bike malfunctions. Assistance may be received from the Organizing Committee or fellow athletes, provided it does not interfere with the latter’s race. External assistance (from non-participants or spectators) is strictly forbidden, including receiving food, drinks, tools, or spare parts. The Organizing Committee’s technical support team will patrol the course and may offer help, but athletes should not rely on this service for basic repairs.
  11. If the bicycle becomes non-functional, athletes may continue the race on foot or running, provided they carry or push the bike beside them and do not obstruct or endanger others.
  12. Athletes must ensure their bib numbers are clearly visible on both their helmet and bicycle throughout the entire event (including transitions).
  13. Cyclists must keep to the right side of the road, overtake on the left, and return to the right as soon as it is safe.
  14. A sweeper vehicle will circulate the course 3 hours after the swim start (cycling time cut-off). It will collect athletes unable to complete the course due to health issues or mechanical failure. These athletes will be marked as DNF (Did Not Finish). Both the athlete and their bike will be transported by the Organizing Committee vehicle for safety.
  15. Athletes must complete the entire course without assistance; failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  16. Athletes are responsible for knowing and following the official cycling route. No time adjustments or exceptions will be made for competitors who go off-course, for any reason.
  17. The cut-off time for the cycling segment is 3 hours from the athlete’s swim start time. Any athlete who does not complete both the swim and cycling segments within this period will receive a DNF, including relay teams.
  18. Riding side by side is not allowed at any time; athletes must ride independently.
  19. Athletes may dispose of waste (e.g., gel wrappers, bottles) only within 50 meters before and after official aid stations.
  20. Athletes are allowed to check in their bikes only once. Once leaving the transition area, they cannot re-enter until race morning. Full access to bikes will be allowed from 04:30 AM on race day, when the transition area opens.

V. RUNNING REGULATIONS

  1. Athletes must follow the instructions of race marshals, volunteers, medical staff, security personnel, and traffic police throughout the event.
Priority must always be given to medical staff, ambulances, and emergency vehicles at any point on the course.
  2. Athletes are not allowed to alter, fold, or damage their bib number.
The timing chip must not be removed.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel results and reject any complaint if the bib or timing chip is found to be modified, transferred, or inconsistent with registration information.
  3. Athletes must wear a shirt at all times during the run and may not run bare-chested under any circumstances.
    • The bib number must be attached to the front of the outermost garment.
    • The bib must remain clearly visible for identification by race officials.
    • Any athlete without a bib or who intentionally conceals or obstructs it will be disqualified.
  4. Pets, bicycles, skateboards, strollers, roller shoes, or any wheeled devices are strictly prohibited on the course, except for official race or medical vehicles.
  5. Athletes may be assigned different starting zones based on their estimated finish times.
  6. External assistance from non-participants and spectators is strictly prohibited throughout the race.
    • This includes receiving food, drinks, cooling aids, or tools from anyone not officially part of the event (e.g., family members, friends, photographers, personal drivers, or spectators).
    • Receiving external aid will result in disqualification.
  7. All athletes must stand behind the start line before the race begins.

  2. Athletes who leave the course are not allowed to rejoin for any reason.
Any athlete who deliberately shortens the route (“cuts the course”) will be disqualified. All cheating or misconduct will be recorded and reported by course referees, members of the Organizing Committee, and security surveillance devices.
  3. It is the responsibility of each athlete to understand and comply with the official race route. No adjustments to time or results will be made for any reason related to failure to follow the course.
  4. Any athlete participating without an official bib number, without a timing chip, or using another person’s timing chip will be disqualified and removed from the race.
  5. Athletes are not permitted to receive any form of assistance, except for medical or emergency support authorized by the Organizing Committee. “Assistance” includes the provision of information, direct or indirect aid, the use of communication devices, or the presence of pacers (either hired or unofficial), aside from those officially provided by the Organizing Committee.
  6. After completing the swim leg and exiting the water, athletes must place their buoy, swim cap, goggles, and other personal items into the designated transition basket. Discarding personal items along the race route, or having relatives enter the course to retrieve items, is considered a violation. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to issue penalties or require the athlete to stop competing. (This rule is especially emphasized for parents and participants in the Junior and Kids categories.)
  7. Athletes are not allowed to use any wheeled or motorized vehicles, or floating assistive devices, during the race.
  8. Athletes are strictly prohibited from bringing animals, explosives, flammable materials, compressed gases, toxic substances, or any items that may cause danger or inconvenience to others onto the course.

    • The athlete starts after the start gate has closed.
    • The athlete wears two or more bibs during the event.
    • The athlete fails to pass the Cut-Off-Time (COT) checkpoint within the designated time.

  3. Athletes must stop racing immediately if instructed by government authorities, fire services, medical teams, or the police due to safety or security reasons concerning themselves, other participants, or the public.
  4. Athletes are responsible for covering any medical expenses incurred as a result of training for or participating in the event (as stated in the waiver), including ambulance services, hospitalization, and medical treatment fees.
  5. Swimming, cycling, and long-distance running are inherently high-risk endurance sports. Athletes should be aware of their physical limits and understand the importance of stopping physical activity before injury or exhaustion occurs.
  6. Throughout the event, athletes must respect the safety and rights of other participants. Under no circumstances or competitive situations should an athlete endanger another competitor.

IX. RACE RESULTS

  1. Race results are recorded through the timing chip attached to each athlete’s bib. Timing begins when the athlete crosses the start line and stops when the athlete crosses the finish line.
  2. Finish Time (Gun Time) will be used for ranking and awarding purposes. Finish Time (Gun Time) refers to the time calculated from the official start signal until the athlete crosses the finish line, according to the Organizing Committee’s timing system.
  3. Athletes whose total time exceeds the Cut-Off Time will not be recognized as finishers.
  4. Any athlete found wearing more than two timing chips during the race will be disqualified and have their results nullified.
  5. Athletes who lose chip timing signals during the race will be disqualified.
  6. Any protests regarding 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place results must be submitted within 2 hours from the time the Organizing Committee presents the awards. Other protests must be submitted within 2 days of the event. The Organizing Committee reserves the final authority to determine whether to recheck the results.
  7. Participants who do not finish (DNF) will not receive a medal. Medals from the Organizing Committee symbolize the athlete’s effort and achievement and are not for sale.
  8. Athletes may collect their Finisher T-shirt only after completing their registered distance.
Shirts are distributed in order of finishing, and if the preferred size is unavailable, the closest available size will be provided.
  9. Finisher shirts cannot be exchanged during or after the event. The shirt size selected during registration does not guarantee the availability of that size at the finish line.
  10. Medals and Finisher shirts will be distributed on-site at the event. Athletes are responsible for collecting them at the designated area. Any issues arising afterward will not be handled by the Organizing Committee.
  11. Athletes have the right to submit a protest or request a review of their race results or those of another athlete, provided they supply clear supporting evidence.
  12. The use of stimulants, drugs, or substances that artificially enhance excitement or performance is strictly prohibited. Athletes may be subject to doping tests before and after the event. A positive test for any banned or illegal substance will result in disqualification and/or annulment of results.

X. AWARDS

  1. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the athlete rankings and results after completing the review and protest procedures.
  2. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to revoke medals or prizes if violations or cheating are discovered after the race. In cases where an athlete has not yet completed the prize claim process, the Organizing Committee may refuse to award the prize.
  3. All prizes not claimed within one month from the date of information verification will become the property of the Organizing Committee.
  4. Prizes must be received according to the Organizing Committee’s regulations. Prizes cannot be transferred or converted to cash. Only athletes who meet all official rules, regulations, and terms set by the Organizing Committee are eligible to receive awards.

XI. CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOR

  1. Athletes must strictly comply with road traffic laws, and follow all instructions from the Organizing Committee, local authorities, and race volunteers.
  2. Athletes who engage in aggressive behavior, disturb public order, or violate laws during the event will be disqualified, have their results and prizes revoked, and may be banned from future events.
  3. Each athlete is responsible for understanding and complying with the event’s rules. Any violation will result in disqualification.
  4. Athletes must demonstrate sportsmanship at all times throughout the event.
  5. Before and during the event, athletes must demonstrate professional and courteous behavior. They must not:
  • Use offensive or vulgar language, argue, insult, or behave in an unsportsmanlike manner toward other athletes;
  • Litter or damage the environment;
  • Use or share images or content that disrespect the Organizing Committee or the event — even after the event has concluded.

Anyone found violating these conduct rules will be removed from the race, disqualified from the event, and banned from participating in future events organized by the Organizing Committee.

6. Athletes must comply with all laws and local regulations and refrain from any form of political, religious, or racial expression. Failure to comply with these legal or local regulations will result in disqualification.

XII. OTHER REGULATIONS

  1. The Organizing Committee is not responsible if the event is canceled or postponed due to force majeure, such as bad weather, natural disasters, epidemics, or war.
  2. In cases of adverse weather or unforeseeable circumstances beyond control, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to postpone the event on race day without refunding participation fees.
  3. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify rules and regulations and will notify athletes via the official website and communication channels at any time before the race.
Athletes who fail to comply with these rules — including updated ones — will have their results and awards revoked, and their official results nullified.
  4. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to use indefinitely all information provided by participants, as well as images and videos featuring athletes and their activities (including footage taken during the event), for legitimate purposes such as media, advertising, and event promotion.
Athletes understand and agree that their names and images may be displayed on the event’s official channels as participants of the race.
  5. The Organizing Committee is not responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings stored at the athlete’s bag-drop area.
For safety reasons, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to inspect bags or personal items kept in these areas.
  6. All complaints and requests for result review must be submitted directly to the Organizing Committee for resolution.
  7. The Organizing Committee’s decisions are final and binding.
